It’s because of the change of the B flat in bar 273 of the second clarinet into A sharp.
You’d need a very low clarinet to play the Bb – which is still a Bb – in that bar.
This is devastating news…………..I was psychologically prepared for Epithalamium and not Epithalamion……………….
This is clearly another ploy to attract a youth audience.
