The hottest masterclass of the decade
mainAs of this morning, 68,000 people had watched a set of three master-classes that Joyce DiDonato gave this week at Carnegie Hall. At her insistence, they are staying online for a year. It’s not a performance, she says: it’s a process.
Watch here. Set aside some time. You are likely to get hooked.
Norman, the link leads to a Bloomberg article about Getty Images running tight on cash.
Apologies. We’ve replaced it with the right link.
I do love these and Joyce, and I know it’s the “in” thing to promote her. However, I would also recommend classes from two Americans who pioneered the idea of putting them online. There are new full masterclasses just released by Thomas Hampson, as well as the various sets of masterclasses available from Renee Fleming. Getting a variety of sources is probably very useful.
Here are links:
Fleming, some of which have over 60K views and there are many different uploads.

Also, to give credit, I think it was Juilliard that first streamed masterclasses live on the internet a couple of years ago. I don’t know what the numbers were. Maybe Juilliard has them. I seem to remember they did stream Joyce then.
