Members of the Berlin Philharmonic, the LSO and Barbican Centre played a team of London musicians at football today. They lost 3-6.

Yay.

    So is that the BP, LSO and Barbican in *one team together* vs. another team of London musicians, or *the BP in one team* and all the London people in the other?

    It’s exactly as Norman described it.
    Team A was made up of players from the Berlin Phil and the Barbican (plus a couple from LSO).
    Team B consisted of freelance musicians from a number of different orchestras and musicals (and me).

    It was great fun, hard fought and – for us – extremely satisfying! Get in!

      Does this suggest that freelance musicians are in better shape because they have to rush from one gig to the next?

    In einem Freundschaftsspiel standen sich heute in Bermondsey das Team der Lehrenden vom Royal College of Music und der FC Berliner Philharmoniker, bestehend aus Mitgliedern unseres Orchesters, des Barbican-Teams und des Teams von Askonas Holt gegenüber. Die Kollegen vom Royal College zeigten eine überzeugende Mannschaftsleistung und gewannen 6-3. Alle hatten viel Spaß!

    In a friendly game today in Bermondsey a team from the Royal College of Music played against the “FC Berliner Philharmoniker” with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Barbican team and the team of Askonas Holt. Our colleagues from the Royal College showed a convincing team spirit and won 6-3. Everybody had a lot of fun!
