The only platinum artist of 2014 pulls her stuff from Spotify
mainTaylor Swift has delivered a telling blow to the low-paying streaming service by withdrawing her new record, along with her entire catalogue.
‘We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy,’ bleated Spotify. ‘That’s why we pay nearly 70% of our revenue back to the music community.’
Perhaps, but artists aren’t seeing much of it.
This could be a turning point in streaming politics.
We like Taylor Swift. Last year. she gave $100,000 to her local symphony orchestra.
I’ve always wondered how musicians actually feel about Spotify. I doubt too many are happy.
