Maestro moves: US stick wins Swiss band
mainJoshua Weilerstein has been named artistic director of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne from next summer on a four year deal. Recently, he came second in a baton shoot-out for the Luxembourg Philharmonic.
Lausanne has nicer views.
He is with the Norwegian trumpet player Tine Thing Helseth in January 2015 and they are in Ottawa on the 29th. So this should be an interesting evening, am looking forward to it. A bit colder than Switzerland but it is warmer in Naples, Florida which is the stop before Ottawa.
He was the assistant conductor of the NY Philharmonic. He was far superior to many other conductors we have seen. Truly a great talent.
