There has been a certain amount of mealy-mouthed media comment about the symphony Michael Nyman premiered this summer for the victims of Britain’s worst sporting disaster, at Hillsborough, in 1989.

I needed to experience the work for myself.

The recording arrived a few days ago. Having listened twice, I chose it without hesitation as my album of the week on sinfinimusic.com.
