Diva DiDonato is gigging tonight in darkest Brooklyn and streaming live to a worldwide audience on her website. the idea is to reach out to a young, non-opera crowd.
Can she do it? Yes she can.

Sorry to see some opera elitists online attacking Joyce for having the gall to make opera accessible. It is people like this that make me fear for opera. It is people like Joyce that fill me with hope.

Set my alarm for 3 a.m. Berlin time and did not regret it – such fun! Ms. Di Donato has such a natural communication skill, I am sure she made lots of fans that evening, not only of her singing, but for opera!
