‘I had 30 concerts lined up the morning after my London debut’
mainAfter an absence of 12 years, Kyung Wha Chung prepares for a return to the stage that changed her life.
A remarkably frank and regret-free self-assessment. Watch.
Mr Galamian used to say: ‘You have 10 fingers. They are 10 crooks.’
How WONDERFUL! Welcome back, dear Kyung-Wha. We should all go along on December 2nd to support her…..
A touching and beautiful video clip. I first met “Cookie” at Ivan Galamian’s Meadowmount School of Music nearly forty five years ago – I wish her the very best for a great success on December 2nd. Her Bach Chaconne sounds fabulous on the video!!!
I echo Robert’s good wishes and welcome back to a very special musician and woman. I, too, met her years ago, when I was working on my biography of Andre Previn. I wish I could be present at the December concert. Will she perhaps be taking it on tour and bringing it to the United States?
I echo Robert’s good wishes. I first met this remarkable musician and woman years ago when I was working on my biography of Andre Previn. I regret I’ll not be present at that December concert. Will she perhaps take it on tour and bring it to concert halls in the United Sates?
Very happy to hear the news and welcome her return. Wishing her the very best success.
As a promo on human endevour it
is mildly interesting …hearing parts
of the dreadfully over engineered Bach
one has less interest .We are already overrun with violinists who have little to say musically outside of showing they
have technique of sorts.Let’s hope
she is returning as an” artist “of the violin.
What an ungracious reply from Milka. Could this be a ‘rival’ fearing competition?
Spite, odium and misanthropy colour every message that ‘Milka’ posts on this blog. The sole feature of cultural interest in her/his contributions is their bizarre verse structure.
Not at all ungracious – it is a response
to a ” business advertisement”
for an upcoming concert,Bell decides
to play in a subway station ,this lady
uses a concert hall,inserts snippets
of the past along with family photos
plus a dreadfully engineered
sound system playing Bach . One wonders if she heard this fake sound,
if she has ,why allow it ? No violin
in the world sounds as awful as does this one . The lady waxes poetic about the art but seems deaf to the Bach background that passes for music making .Perhaps she is too taken up with letting you know her return date.
As I wrote let’s hope she returns as an
artist though this business advertisement seems
to work against it .
