Principal viola dies after car crash
UncategorizedWe regret to report the death of Marshall Fine, principal viola of the Memphis Symphony and a widely published composer of three symphonies and more.
Marshall did not recover from injuries sustained in a car crash last week.
Marshall was the son of Burton Fine, long-serving principal viola of the Boston Symphony, and the brother of Elaine Fine, flautist and composer.
Our sympathies to the Fine family.

Thank you, Norman.
I have to add to my expression of thanks: Marshall is also the son of June Fine, a musician and artist. I haven’t played the flute professionally for more than twenty-five years. Like my brother, I play viola and violin and compose.I don’t know where you got this information, but it wasn’t from a member of my family. And I wish you had checked with our family before posting it as is.
