Interesting that Abbado returned to Pergolesi late in his life again and this time recorded 3 CDs.
I find it very remarkable how open minded he was about period practice performance.
Comparing the 2 versions of the Stabat Maters is an eye opener ! And both versions are ravishingly beautiful.
