since my youth, I’ll miss him!
I am deeply saddened to hear of this death. Something moves and captivates me about his music making and his disposition. I admire his balanced musical personality on his recordings so that it is dramatic yet nuanced at the same time. I like the sound he achieved on his recordings, and I also like his culture of continuous improvement in his re-recordings of pieces he had already done before. This is an irreparable and irreplaceable loss, but at least conductors like Chailly, Gardiner and Thielemann might continue on with his legacy.
