What can one say about Mr. Kissin’s playing other than he’s realized and exceeded the potential everyone saw in him as a 12 year old. And he’s done it sans drama, affectation, outrageous outfits or any other form of controversy.
He is, without doubt, among the very best atop today’s pianistic Mt. Olympus — and I expect he’ll stay there for the rest of his life.
I am also very thankful for the increasing perfection Medici.tv brings to these performances. In so many ways, I’m finding watching and listening to be ever so much more enjoyable than even being there.
