MDs are seeking new MD
mainMusic director, not managing director.
The London Medical Orchestra have put out search warrants for a new conductor. The incumbent, Mac Axtell, is coming up for retirement and there’s a vacancy come September.
If your dream is to stand before 80 pairs of clinical eyes, all watching your vital symptoms and waiting for you to drop (especially concertmasters, beware the ambitious concertmaster), your dream job is being advertised online, here.
The orch is also interested in hearing from willing string players and a clarinet.

On the other hand, if Maestro Axtell’s successor does run into problems while conducting, there will be no shortage of qualified people who can help! And, if the orchestra visits New York State, one of its members should have the knowledge to use the defibrillator that is legally required in all places of public assembly, as mentioned elsewhere on this blog. Of course, if everyone in the group is “ambitious,” or they don’t like the new conductor, all bets are off as to what might happen! 😉
