French TV stations must have something going on with this pianist. It seems like every week we see a new video of her, and they’re all French.
Of course, here in the U.S., even an incredibly attractive and/or talented pianist wouldn’t get the time of day on PBS anymore, let alone on a major network.
Her living in Paris and holding French citizenship may explain the French TV and French language bit.
Interesting, I didn’t realize she lived there, though she seems to have an impressive command of French given that it’s presumably not her first language.
Kudos probably go to her publicist too…
This virtuoso speaks 5 languages: her native Georgian, French, Russian, German and English! All fluently too. Khatia is impressive on many levels.
Wonderful woman and wonderful pianist.
She is not doing what it has already been done before.
The way she’s playing put the critics up and that is very thrilling.
Those pseudo-intracoital facial twitchings are becoming rather faded with each subsequent video. Serge Forward and Jane Firkin did it better, although that was decades back.
I get tired of the way the camera dwells on her face, but I do like listening to her playing.
