We learn with sadness of the death of Manana Doijashvili, former rector of the Tbilisi State Conservatory and founder of the Tbilisi International Piano Competition.
Manana was 75.
She was a power hub of international contacts and initiatives, a forerunner of many Georgian classical successes.

Very sad news. I met her once at the Conservatorium in Tbilisi. Gracious, gentle lady and formidable pianist.
