Leading Georgian pianist dies
RIPWe learn with sadness of the death of Manana Doijashvili, former rector of the Tbilisi State Conservatory and founder of the Tbilisi International Piano Competition.
Manana was 75.
She was a power hub of international contacts and initiatives, a forerunner of many Georgian classical successes.
Very sad news. I met her once at the Conservatorium in Tbilisi. Gracious, gentle lady and formidable pianist.
RIP
