Vienna’s doyen piano teacher has died at 101
RIPProfessor Renate Kramer-Doblander whi taught students aged five to fifty at Vienna’s Uniersity of Music has died at a very great age.
It was said that people left her classroom exceptionally well-equipped for life, whether as ballet dancers or nuclear scientists.

They refer to her as Renate Kramer-Preisenhammer, which is how I also remember her name from the 1980s.
Many piano students who go on to other occupations remember such teachers with affection and respect — which is no doubt true for this lady.
