Classical music calls off its biggest conference
mainThe annual IAMA conferece – the biggest gathering of the classical music business – is off.
Due to be held in Barcelona from April 22 to 24, it was scrapped this morning.
IAMA is the International Artist Managers’ Association.
This statement was issued to members:
The board regrets to inform all our colleagues that the 30th IAMA International Conference in Barcelona will be postponed until the Autumn. We ask your patience as we look at our options along with a refund policy once we have cleared procedures with the Spanish tax authorities.
The headline is cleverly missing the word “business”.
Your point being?
Surely Classical Next is the biggest classical music conference? And the League of American Orchestras conference is also bigger than IAMA’s.
Don’t spoil a good story, Mark!
