max pommer will be 82 in February, probably reason he did not stay very long.

What is this man doing in far-away lands? He made a superb CD with Wagner chunks à la Stokowski (Stokowski’s Wagner, BBC Phil, Chandos 1999). Is it because of his famous twelve-tone commercial?

Well said. I’ve just seen a tweet by pianist Stephen Hough who is on his way – once again – from Singapore to Korea for recitals and concerts.

And I have a wonderful memory of the Sapporo symphony orchestra playing Sibelius 5, 6 and 7 in Suntory hall, Tokyo conducted by Tadaaki Otaka (The printed programme proudly stated Mr Otaka OBE.)
