The linked article does not contain a single word that would justifiy this posting, let alone its tone.
Absolutely correct. The only passage which has anything to do in the widest sense with the claim of the headline and the post of the blog owner reads:
“Wo Sie als Generalmusikdirektor noch bis 2018 unter Vertrag stehen.
– Ja, mal schauen, was die Zukunft bringt, das wird sich demnächst sicher mal entscheiden. Ich wollte ja immer gern etwas weniger machen und habe stattdessen fortwährend mehr gemacht (lacht).” For readers who don’t understand German: not a single syllable about quitting Nuremberg, let alone about having informed the city that he wouldn’t want to go on past 2018.
Unfortunately gross misrepresentations of facts like this one are not a rare phenomenon on this site, and very sadly spoil the reputation of this potentially great service to the musical community. As Mr. McGill quoted Elie Wiesel: words matter.
it’s not a secret that the contract of this mediocre guy wasn’t extended due to the deep discord with the orchestra. the only strange thing about it is that the Munich officials allow him to ‘educate ‘ young people – a person who is well known for rascistic, sexistic and antisemitic jokes and comments .
OMG. Really?
I mean, about the ‘a person who is well known for rascistic, sexistic and antisemitic jokes and comments’
To Gerhard: Boschs PR-Agency Schimmer PR confirmed two days ago, that the conductor will leave Nuremberg 2018.
This may well be so, but none of it is in the interview linked on this site in the very sentence which claims that Mr. Bosch had given notice to the city of Nuremberg. I didn’t pretend that I had more or different information, but commented solely on the journalistic method.
Good riddance to bad rubbish!
