A great artist and vocal interpreter, despite his white, nasal and guttural voice…
I’m sure you’re a fine poster, despite your white, nasal, guttural and utterly idiotic posting.
Do you enjoy trolling so much?
Theo Adam’s noble Hans Sachs rings in my ears, with beauty, lyricism and nobility. His Baron Ochs I heard in Vienna was marvelous, his distinct and marvelous timbre was unique. Happy birthday, it’s thrilling to have a few of this great singing generation still with us.
Do you get a kick by being sarcastic?
I do like Theo Adam’s artistry and especially his Sachs interpretation with Karajan, aswell as his Holländer with Klemperer.
But I still find his voice white, guttural and nasal, compared with his contemporary peers like f ex Thomas Stewart, Norman Bailey, George London (or especially concerning Bach-singing, Fischer-Dieskau and Hermann Prey concerning Loewe Ballads), or older dittos as Hans Hotter, Hermann Uhde, Otto Edelmann, Hans Hermann Nissen et all.
In fact, I have the same opinion about Otto Wiener, another artist I admire greatly, despite also having an annoyingly white-pale, nasal voice. And no, I’m not a troll, sorry…
A bit mean spirited to say the least.
To give your mean spirited post the benefit of the doubt, it might be said that Bach arias were not his forte, timbre and articulation wise. His birthday would much better be celebrated with a Wagner part he excelled in.
By the way mr.”Respect”; if you want to give auditive lessons about how Sachs should be fully interpreted – and not only in the purely vocal sense, do yourself the favor and listen to the likes of Michael Bohnen, Hans Hermann Nissen, Paul Schöffler, Ferdinand Frantz, Otto Edelmann, and for the sake of good sound, Tommy Stewart with Kubelik.
If only Theo Adam does it for you, you will end up with a rather “whiter shade of pale”- feeling!….
Actually, “friend”, having spent thirty plus years coaching, conducting and studying this repertoire in major German theaters, I don’t need your “tips”.
Sorry if it offends your refined sensibility that your record collection shapes your knowledge, I still find your offensive remarks about Kammersänger Adam ridiculous.
Oh, and expand your collection to include the magnificent Norman Bailey, it’s a comment on your dilettantish approach that you fail to mention him.
I knew Tom Stewart: you’re no Tom Stewart, Novagiero.
I already mentioned Norman Bailey above….and you still have serious issues…are you possibly a secondary or a tertiary or even a quaternary who never got a chance to shine under the limelight?…cos you sound pretty much like one….
Oh, I forgot, silly me! It’s still my fundamental right as a music lover to have an own opinion without having hypersensitive small people like you get offended. Thank you for your attention mr.Korrepetitor!
Lol. Hardly. Never was a pianist. 🙂
Obvious you’re just a troll.
Bye bye. Your post remains obnoxious, as do you.
Moving away from your angry stench….
Oh, I’m not the angry one, but you seem to have forgotten that people on this or just any other public thread are completely freely entitled to have opinions about voices, players and conductors (are you perhaps from the former DDR?) …
I still don’t consider I “insulted” Kammersänger Adam, but I more than gladly insult you. And if I’m a troll you are just a pathetic fart in the wind. Bye bye.
