The San Francisco Conservatory of Music has fortified its faculty with an experienced cello professor.

Richard Aaron has been professor of cello at the University of Michigan since 2006 and at Juilliard since 2007.

“Richard Aaron’s extraordinary work is evidenced through his exceptional students who hold premier positions throughout the world,” said SFCM President David Stull. “He is a brilliant colleague and musician and his impact on our profession has been profoundly transformative. I am honored to welcome Richard to this marvelous faculty.”

The upgrades continue.

I’m sure the opportunity to get discounts on designer fashion from needle-poked hawkers on most sidewalks is also part of San Francisco’s allure.

Unless we get sanity back in SF, its future is over.

      This comment seems quite irrelevant.

Irrelevant to those who live outside of SF maybe.
Crime of all sorts is committed with greater ease and less resistance than taking candy from a baby.

Now a music school with ambitions towards management is working to hire East-Coast esteemed faculty. Why on earth Maestro Aaron would go there, we cannot really know yet. But for sure, the city is experiencing an otherwise brain-drain.

You get what you order in Calirfornia.

Richard Aaron is a first class teacher whose students have enjoyed much success. He will be a great asset to SFCM.
