Francis was a year ahead of me at Hopkins Grammar School (1965-69) in New Haven, CT and his younger brother Philip was my best pal at the same school (1965-70). The brothers came from an extraordinary family, the sons of Dr. Stefan Kuttner and his kind and fascinating wife, Eva Illch.
Francis was an idol of mine. He lived ver his dream made real of being a violin maker in Cremona. And with success!
Those of us who knew him were especially blessed and speaking for myself, I am heartbroken utterly.
