‘Due to his current state of health,’ it is not possible for Daniel Barenboim to perform at this Friday’s sold-out concert, say the organisers of the Ruhr Piano Festival.

Barenboim will be replaced in Beethoven’s three last sonatas by participants in his master classes at the Barenboim Said Academy in Berlin. Fabian Müller will play opus 109, New Yorker-in-Berlin Julia Hamos (pictured) will debut in opus 110 followed by Bochum-born Schaghajegh Nosrati in opus 111.
