On July 16th, 2023, the anniversary of the eighteenth and last apparition of the Virgin Mary, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, located in the Pyrenees, in southwestern France, welcomes tenor Andrea Bocelli in a special performance, open to all families and pilgrims in tribute to the families of COVID-19 pandemic victims.

Since Bernadette Soubirous first claimed to have witnessed almost twenty apparitions of the Virgin Mary in the Massabielle grotto, more than seventy confirmed miracles and over 7,000 cures that defy scientific explanation have been recorded. Our Lady of Lourdes is revered as the patron saint of miraculous cures and intercedes for those who suffer from physical and spiritual afflictions. In these difficult times for humanity, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine, the significance of the patroness of the sick becomes even more important.

Titled “Prayers for Life,” this upcoming concert is part of a series of performances at Marian Shrines worldwide and is being offered free of charge to the public by Dançar Marketing and Colégio Vértice. The acclaimed tenor will be accompanied by the Choir and Orchestra of Pau Pays de Béarn from the city of Pau, France, conducted by Italian maestro Carlo Bernini, by the Ukrainian violinist Anastasiya Petryshak and the French soprano Clara Barbier Serrano.

“I’m happy to return to Lourdes after so many years to be able to give thanks through the gift I received from heaven, for all that is extraordinary that has been given to me and to thank the Virgin Mary, to whom I have always been extremely devoted, and to meet all those believers who would like to be present in this event”, says Andrea Bocelli.

    Thank you Andrea!!!!

  • IP says:

They match. One is a lawyer acting as a singer, and the other one a communist acting as a pope.

And the comment is big hogwash looking for attention.
FYI I’m not a Christian but enjoy Bocelli’s singing..

  • Maria says:

I am a Catholic and just find it all embarrassing and so far removed from Jesus’s message.
