He’s been there about four years. Orchestra management is like “dog years.”
Good luck to Keith. He’s one of our most respected orchestra administrators. An attorney, a musician, an administrator. Looking forward to learning where he will hang his hat next.
An interesting model at the Tulsa Symphony – no chief conductor, only guests. Presumably that makes the executive director job especially important. I hope they find a good replacement, as Tulsa needs it.
Tulsa is structured as a “cooperative” orchestra with musicians making many management decisions. Therefore, one might say that the executive director is not “especially important.”
Keith is a very talented gentleman and I wish him well with his new assignment.
Pay attention, folks. If Mr. Hyslop says he’s talented, you can take it to the bank.
