He left Russia on March 2022. The Bolshoi Theater is a state theater whose budget is taxpayers’ money.
His “anti-war statements” was the decisive reason, but in reality he is just a thief and an unprofessional. Officials, as always, lack a reason, and corrupt judges lack evidence.
In total, 200,000,000 rubles (about $2,500,000) were stolen from taxpayers’ money (in 2014-2014, years before the 2022′ events).
In his current status, anti-war statements are not about “peace and love” but an attempt to build a career that he will never have outside of Russia. Only here it was possible not to pay taxes for years and “legitimately” steal money from budgetary cultural institutions.
