The orchestra’s American concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley will be  leading a late-night concert of klezmer music, the distinctive genre of Jewish wedding bands that roamed eastern Europe until the 1930s.

Noah will be soloist in his own Fidl-Fantazye, a klezmer concerto for violin and chamber orchestra. There will also be a performance of Yizkor by Ödön Pártos, starring principal violist Amihai Grosz, and two works by Samuel Adler.

It’s a Saturday night show on April 22. Tickets here.

(Karajan wouldn’t know where to put his beat.)

NBB played his piece with the Baltimore Symphony two weeks ago. It’s pretty good, and superbly played, no surprise.

  • Anthony Guterwicz says:

Don’t understand your comment about Karajan who was a nazi.
