The magazine has published an obituary for its 1970s editor Malcolm Walker. He was 82.

Son of the notable British bass Norman Walker, Malcolm Walker held the entire recorded catalogue in his head and was able to make instant comparisons betweeen recordings. In his time, Gramophone never held the industry to scrutiny or ccount for its many faults and shortcomings.

He was old-school.
