  • Emil says:

    What’s desperate about this?

  • Mark Cogley says:

In most quartets, the second violin position has always been the one with the most turnover, for obvious reasons. The first violin position hardly ever changes, again for obvious reasons. In this case it may have got so bad that the man leaving didn’t allow for a proper amount of time to be replaced.

    • Oliver says:

You seem to know what these obvious reasons might be. Would you mind enlightening us? To play second violin in a good quartet does not have to be a frustrating experience. Some violinists actually prefer it and it suits their personality very well. Plus, we don’t know exactly what led to the departure of Mr. Menacho, we can only speculate.

    • Tweettweet says:

Well, the guy who is leaving has been the 2nd violinist of the quartet since the start.

  • Peter says:

A wonderful opportunity. And The Hague is a very nice city. I hope it works out well for them.
