  • Greg Bottini says:

Jon Batiste hasn’t been with The Late Show since August. The new band leader is Louis Cato.
Endea Owens is still a part of the band, however.

    • MacroV says:

But apparently “Stay Human” is still a band, even if not labeled as such under Louis’ direction on the Late Show.

  • Wokebs says:

More drivel as we continue to destroy classical music.

    • MacroV says:

If she’s playing in the Late Show band, she’s a great player. That’s all that matters.

    • Jake says:

More racially prejudiced comments as we continue to encounter Russian trolls on this website.

    • D says:

I heard her in a concert at Lincoln Center a few years ago, as part of their weekly series at the David Rubenstein Atrium. Her focus may not be strictly classical, but she’s truly talented and quite appealing.

  • Fenway says:

Is she a black leader in classical music as the award states? More woke garbage. Go buy more p&g products to support this crap.

  • Pianofortissimo says:

The orchestra should pay the musicians better instead of spending money on stuff like that.

I suspect that your lack of enthusiasm for the subject of the article has prevented you from checking on some of the financial facts about this orchestra. Here are some links, both post- and pre-Covid:
