It’s back to the frigid 1960s with high walls between Russia and the “West.” It will get much worse before it gets better. Sad. To think of all that we had accomplished.

Responses from Mongolia and Nicaragua were not sufficient, I guess.

Will be curious how they’ll handle the ‘23 Tchaikovsky Competition (much more high radar than the recent Rachmaninoff Competition)

Even if that competition were held, who would want to claim they won it?

      • Tara Wilson says:

Rumour has it that the 2023 International Tchaikovsky Competition will be held, regardless of Western opinion/boycott. This will give Russia what it wants: predominantly Russian competitors and as such, a far greater medal count. Sad for young and genuinely gifted Russian performers such as Alexandra Dovgan who might otherwise have had a chance to obtain success within an international context. Any victory for Russia next June will now be hollow.

Well… at least they didn’t blame it on a “dirty bomb” plot
