Jobs fair: Star cellist is Menuhin’s new professor

The Armenian soloist Alexander Chaushian has been appointed cello professor at the Yehudi Menuhin School, where he once studied. He is already professor at Conservatorium Maastricht in Holland and at the Royal College of Music in London.

  • Interested observer says:

Star? Scraping the barrel a little with that description aren’t they…?

Incidentally – how many cello teachers (or “professors” as they adapt now) have the Yehudi M. School had in the last 5 years – or have we lost count – and no mention of the large black cloud their previous “star” American cellist left under evidently in this press release.

Let’s hope their new president sorts out the rot at the core of the place asap.

  • Not interested says:

    Teacher, not a professor.
