Cancer claims a Finnish composer, 76
RIPThe internationally known Finnish musician Kari Tikka has died after a long bout of cancer.
As well as composing a formidable opera on the life of Martin Luther (2000), the first Finnish opera on DVD, he conducted Finnish National Opera and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra i the 1970s, as well as the Stockholm Opera from 1974 to 1976.
Males in Finland have the same fate : all become composers.and sometimes their output is huge by any sperm-count standards : tons of symphonies.
