Last-minute pianist switch at BBC Proms
NewsFrancesco Piemontesi has dropped out of tonight’s Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Thomas Dausgaard.
His replacement in Jan Lisiecki.

A very strong replacement. No concerns there.
Heard him play Beethoven G-major in Houston and Boulder in the last year. Superlative. Proms goers are in for a treat.

Don’t know the guy who should have played but his replacement is amazing!
No explanation for this very very late change from the BBC or RAH of course.
Happy to hear Jan Lisiecki for the first time but Francesco Piemontesi is a much more interesting pianist.
Lisciecki played the Beethoven 4th concerto beautifully- outstripping Wang’s rather flash Liszt Concerto the week before. I think I know where I am on the real artist.
