Ukrainian wins NY piano competition
NewsA Ukrainian pianist Illia Ovcharenko, 21, has been named the winner of the tenth New York International Piano Competition. He receives $20,000 and a sheaf of concert engagements.
Ovcharenko, from Kyiv, studies with Arie Vardi at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv.
