Lament for Uri Zohar
RIPThe Israeli entertainer, who died today aged 86, was not himself a musician, but he was the closest friend of the iconic singer Arik Einstein, so close that Einstein’s daughter’s married Zohar’s two sons.
They remained close even when Zohar turned religious and became a proselytising rabbi, while Einstein remained devoutly secular.
Between them, they represented a naive idealism that never took itself too seriously.
Einstein died in 2013.
