I have received a number of versions of this Prayer for Ukraine, written in 1885 by Oleksandr Konysky (words) and Mykola Lysenko(music). This is one of the simplest and best. It is by the Caritas Choir who perform it here in Wales’ Llandaff Cathedral. The setting is by Lindsay Gray, a former director of the Royal School of Church Music. There are times when all you can do it pray. This may be one of them.
