The newspaper Haaretz reports that Alla Pugacheva has landed in Israel as part of a growing Russian exodus.

Pugacheva, 72, has been known as Queen of Russian Pop since the late 1960s. She has been honoured both by Vladimir Putin and by the Belarussian dictator Lukashenko.

She arrived in Israel with her husband, the comedian Maxim Galkin.

Popdrain… braindrain…. artdrain…. what remains is the poor and the scum.

    • M2N2K says:

If you add the dumb to “the poor and the scum”, you would be describing about 90% of the country’s population. And some of those are actually all three.

  • Bob Rabinoff says:

Can she sing in Hebrew or Yiddish?

  • DB says:

There are enough Soviet-born people in Israel who don’t need Pugacheva to sing in Hebrew or Yidish.

  • DB says:

I grew up on Pugacheva and she was an extraordinary artist. I’m rather pleased she is not supporting Putin. Her husband made a statement against the war very early on.

This is one of my favorite performances by her.
