Composer receives his Oscar in a bathrobe
UncategorizedHans Zimmer was asleep in an Amsterdam hotel early this morning when his daughter woke him with news of his Oscar win.
He quickly got into pose.
It’s his second Oscar, so he knows how it’s done, followed by a tweet or two:

The Oscar’s history is ful of this kind of stories. especially in the best foreign film category. In the 60’s and 70’s a lot of directors didn’t come to LA because they thought that they will never win and at the time it was impossible in Europe to watch the ceremony live I suppose. Maybe apart in UK.
Zimmer appears to have been the only winner not in L.A. to receive his trophy. Even the “Drive My Car” group from Japan was there. It’s not like this wasn’t on the calendar for months.
Normal if you want to win the Best foreign language film you have to be in the US several weeks before the result. It’s a long campaign. If you have win several time before an Oscar it’s not the same thing.
He is on tour in Europe at the moment.
He could have rescheduled.
Then again, maybe he knew that the Academy would be marginalizing the “behind the scenes” awards this year and figured it wasn’t worth his time.

That’s one way to frame it.
What’s he holding? He obviously was prepared to win if he already had a miniature gag oscar. And it’s not like these awards come as a total surprise, there is an entire awards season leading up to the oscars.
Fake.
And he didn’t even have to slap anyone to win it!
That was a disappointing occurrence for Smith; hair-trigger aggression is always a bad look. He’s a fine actor but when you pump up an entire racial demographic with grievance and victimhood it’s easy to see how this might go off the rails in an instant of insecurity.
That’s not an Oscar he’s holding
Don’t tell me… the taxi drivers, the insurers, the tea lady all get a credit on the film but the musicians who performed Han’s music?
