The Fryderyk Chopin Institute calls for financial help for children who run away from the war in Ukraine. The fundraising is co-organised by The Chopin Institute and the Caritas foundation (information on bank transfers below).

The first donor is Bruce Liu, the winner of the 18th Chopin Competition, who donated his remuneration for the concerts on the 212th Fryderyk Chopin’s birthday, which he played in Warsaw.
We also understand that several rooms at Chopin’s birthplace in Żelazowa Wola are now being used to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.

That is a statement more powerful than the recent cookie cutter assault on Russian musicians. Positive actions speak more loudly and do more good.

    Wonderful….!

    Liu’s gesture is excellent example.

    Slightly different from Berezovsky’s.

Both Chopin Institute and Bruce Liu are doing the right thing. Bravo.

I think that the management of the Chopin institute should also consider to use their private residences and the Royal Castle in Warsaw as an accomodation for ukrainian refugees. By the way . Ulrainian heroic goverment has proclaimed year 2022 as a year of their national “hero” stepanBandera. It looks that those patron isn’t lucky choice for those nation and bandera”s year will be remembered for years.
