Berlin Philharmonic loses half its Verdi Requiem soloists

Both mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili and tenor Fabio Sartori have unfortunately had to cancel their participation in the performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s Messa da Requiem under the baton of Daniel Barenboim from 11 to 13 March due to illness. Marina Prudenskaya will take over for Anita Rachvelishvili. The tenor part will now be sung by Michael Spyres.
Spyres is a luxury stand-in!
judging from their playbill : ” …sopran …” Norman, guess at “one” who is their soprano and remember my first comments a few years ago here 😉
