    50 and still immature….

  • Gustavo says:

    “And where’s the Vodka?”

That is quite an inappropriate slogan right now.

Better switch to Ouzo for the time being.

  • Evan Tucker says:

It really is astounding that he and Petrenko are exact contemporaries. It’s like looking at mirror images of how to view conducting and musicianship. One is devoted to serving music, the other is Currentzis.

  • RW2013 says:

Aren’t the 10 years that he pledged to “save classical music” already up?

  • Sue Sonata Form says:

Rude health and fitness. Good luck to him!!

  • M McGrath says:

Isn’t this guy more gimmickry and show than musical quality and insight ? A bit like André Rieu, just not as telegenic? (Apologies to Mr Rieu who is quite the musician.)

  • Gustavo says:

    I prefer him over Yannick.

  • Alan says:

The bitterness of some on this site towards anyone who dares deviate from the norm is quite astounding.

  • Del Boy says:

He’s a strange one alright – on the one hand his Da Ponte cycle is that of a 14 year old conducting in his bedroom mirror, so utterly awfully terribly musically dreadful – and yet his Tchaik 6 is simply staggering and his Beethoven5 too.

A very strange fish but I welcome anything he has to offer. It does us well to be upset and provoked occassionally.

  • Thomas M. says:

The guy’s a terrible show-off. He started promisingly, but all he ever does now is pulling ridiculous stunts. The guy’s an egomaniac.
