  • NYMike says:

    They’ve recorded it for DG.

  • Alphonse says:

Thanks but no thanks. Also, I see that the woke muzzle is still in vogue, despite the majority of the orchestra no doubt being double- if not triple- “jabbed”, as they’d be eager to point out. God help us…

  • just saying says:

You’d think Florence Price is the only Black composer worth playing nowadays, given how much she’s appearing on programs lol

    • Karl says:

I’ve heard some Coleridge-Taylor in Boston.

      • Anthony Sanderson says:

Coleridge-Taylor was very popular in his lifetime in Victorian and Edwardian England, but fell into neglect afterwards. Various companies like Hyperion have recorded some of his music.

He joined the Royal College of Music when aged 15 and was taught by Charles Stanford.

He made three tours of the United States and was invited to the White House by Theodore Roosevelt in 1904.

  • RONALD FRANK MOVRICH says:

    Yannick is very, very good.

    • Herbie G says:

Yes, Yannick is very, very good and Price is very, very mediocre but with impeccable woke connotations. I bet that the the concert will be a sell-out with 90 per cent of the audience being… what colour?

      • Thomas says:

Republicans like you are just the lowest of the low, the vilest of the vile.

      • Karl says:

Price is better than mediocre, but not nearly as good as many other neglected composers like Taneyev and Stenhammar. I heard YNS call Price’s 1st Symphony a masterpiece at a performance at SPAC over the summer. I hope he doesn’t really believe that.

  • caranome says:

why is this an incentive at all?? It’s like a 50% discount on a 7-day holiday in Siberia in February.

  • Joel Lazar says:

I conducted the Price Third Symphony in February 2019…orchestra, audience and I enjoyed it very much…looking forward to hearing this version, particularly with de-bugged parts.

  • Douglas Beardslee says:

I am frankly surprised at the hateful tone of many of the posts for this particular offer, especially here on Slipped Disc. What gives, or is our country bubbling over with animosity about diversity and inclusion?
