The legendary Semperoper in Dresden is launching a weekend campaign to vaccinate its audience.

A team of doctors will be on hand from Friday to Sunday offering first, second or boost jabs, no questions asked. Musicians will be on hand to play and sing as the juice goes in.

Saxony has one of the lowest vaccine uptake levels in Germany. Semeroper performances have been suspenced until January 9.

‘With this campaign, we are helping to send a clear signal for the corona vaccination,’ said Semperoper director Peter Theiler. “Only when as many people as possible show solidarity and have been vaccinated can we return to regular performance.’
