The widow of Jonny Halliday is leading a wave of outrage against the far-right presidential candidate Eriz Zemmour, protesting that he abused her husband’s memory by hitching it to an aggressive nationalist agenda.

Heirs of the chanteuse Barbara have joined the protest.

Film producers have ordered their clips to be removed from his broadcast.

Youtube says it has taken down his campaign video. (Although we can still get access).

Zemmour is laughing all the way to the next rally.

The “musical uproar” generated by a hundred or so classical musicians and their families/friends must make Zemmour quake in fear.

  • Stuart L. says:

    The name is ‘Johnny Hallyday’.

Respect the artist, respect the name.

  • gimel says:

Hmm, I can’t remember the last time a columnist became prime minister of a major power, let me think, B..B..Bo…Bor…Bori… No, the name escapes me.

  • Nick says:

Bravo Zemmour!!! Laughing at them is the only way to get through in this crazy world.

  • Zemmour toujours! says:

    Go go go Eric Zemmour!!

    Thanks for fighting self-eradication.
    Needs to spread throughout Europe!

A new way of thinking. And stopping the old self-guilt patterns and and stopping those ongoing weak concessions to degenerate anti-family, anti-patriotic hate sentiments.

I think this site should draw a line at people spewing fascism. I’m all in favor of a robust debate, but this is beyond the pale.

      • StableBrother says:

        That’s cucked talk, Hugo.

(The ladies will still be repelled. You can imagining all the ladies swooning at your words, but it’s just that… imagination.)

      • True North says:

NL should no longer pretend that any community standards whatever exist on this site. It’s just getting worse and worse. Sad, for those of us who wish to engage with the music we love, but would prefer to do so without the daily dose of fear-based, far-right lunacy.

We practise moderation. You are advocating censorship. SD is an open forum and we aim to keep it that way.

        • Nick says:

True North, FYI: All lunacy in the world in the history of Humanity always, but always comes only from the LEFT, i.e. from people like yourself!
          Educate yourself!

EM paints a picture of French cities as citadels of civilisation surrounded by a ring of barbarians who lay siege on the Grande Nation. That the immigrants in the banlieus are the poor who are excluded from society in the first place and hence, a breeding ground of crime and terrorism, is turned around in the usual volte-face manner of fascist war mongers.

      • Psychoanalytic Nietzsche says:

John and Hugo, when they think they can finally again unpack “fascism” in their paragraphs…
their saliva starts running… wet, soggy, like Pavlov’s dogs…

        • SmirkCat says:

Yip. They can fight their delusional fascism, by continuing to suffocate themselves in a multiculturalist harem of decay and downfall…
(whilst continuing to tell themselves… “all is good”).

        • John Borstlap says:

That’s what I think every day! and then the temeritee to corect my typos.
