An Italian countertenor is charged with murdering a cop

Italy is in the grip of a real-life operatic drama.

The countertenor Mirto Milani is accused, together with two sisters, of murdering their mother, a police officer.

Milani, 27, studied at the Verdi Conservatorio in Milano and was making a career (below) as a freelance recitalist.

    As to the voice: Guilty of ghastly screeching and giving sopranos a bad name. For which no prison sentence is required. Hopefully not guilty of murder.
