The country just had an election, which swung to the left.

Message from the Opera:
Dear audience, due to the strike in the cultural sector, we unfortunately have to cancel the rest of the performances with One of a Kind. We also have to postpone the premiere of Dead Man Walking, which should have been on Saturday. Anyone who bought a ticket will be contacted by email with more info. Baby opera in the foyer and Ultima concerts at Scene 2 going as planned this week. We hope that the strike will soon be over, so that the repertoire will not be affected.

The intended conductor was Karen Kamensek.

This is sad news. Especially for the talented Kamensek.

  • Sue Sonata Form says:

Good luck with the left wing government, ‘a more equal society’ and getting rid of oil and gas exploration!!! They’re going to need all the luck they can get.

    “Stupid Swedes.”
    “They’re Norwegian, Macready.”

  • Una says:

An inapproriate strike when the arts and artists are struggling enough in a pandemic without cancelling anymore performances. Not everyone will agree with me but in England, if not the UK as a whole and Ireland, not much appetite for strikes in this climate.
