New Jersey violinist is charged with abuse of girl, 12

A violin teacher at Rider University’s Westminster Choir College has been charged with sexually molesting a minor while teaching her at his home, in 2016.

Dezheng Ping, 57, of Lawrence, is also an international concert artist and concertmaster of several local orchestras.

    lesson is going on

    Charged, not found guilty. Please, let’s be serious.

      Even if found not guilty he will still be considered guilty. The accused should be allowed to remain anonymous in cases like this until found guilty by a court.

    Mr. Ping teaches at the Westminster Conservatory of Music, which is a community music school at Rider University. He is not on the faculty of Westminster Choir College.

    The article devotes more space reciting his credentials straight out of his CV (which are pretty shitty to begin with) than about the charges and reactions from the school and from authorities. Community newspaper journalism at its finest.
