I attended a concert he led last June. He looked quite fit. Musically he delivered – he always does, I think.

  • CarlD says:

Wonderful news! I live just an hour away and will definitely look forward to enjoying the dependably engaging and affable Maestro Tovey and his new charges.

  • KANANPOIKA says:

director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra….

  • Karl says:

Did he ever write that violin concerto? He was supposed to write a concerto for James Ehnes that was commissioned by the National Arts Centre Orchestra a couple of years ago, but his health problems prevented that.

  • True North says:

Glad to know he’s doing well. From what I’ve heard, he is missed at his former gig. The new guy isn’t a patch on him.
