Paris Conservatoire reinstates banned cello teacher

The cello professor Jérôme Pernoo was suspended from teaching by the Conservatoire in the middle of March after allegations of inappropriate touching of male students. Pernoo, 49, denied wrongdoing.

He was reinstated this week to the rster with immediate effect.

However, the Paris prosecutor’s office is continuing its investigation. And the director of the Conservatoire has ordered what is described as ‘a preliminary interview for disciplinary dismissal’ on September 2.

    Well now is vacation time there, no lessons. And if he gets fired on September 2, he won’t be reinstated long enough for lessons to restart.
